Our charge for a direct cremation without ceremonies includes: basic services of funeral director and staff, a proportionate share of overhead costs, removal of remains within a 25 mile radius. After hours removal fee of decedent applies, from 5pm-8am. Transportation to crematory, necessary authorizations, and cremation. Rush services available with fee upon request.

If you want to arrange direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are a fiberboard container.

This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains.). This fee includes the following:Personnel available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond to initial call, conducting arrangements conference, planning the funeral, consulting with and clergy, shelter of remains (refrigeration fee will commence after 7 days), coordinating service plans with cemetery, crematory and other parties involved in the final disposition. Obtaining necessary authorizations and permits. In addition, this fee includes a proportionate share of our basic overhead cost.

The Martinez Family Funeral Home offers various services and facilities to assist families with funeral arrangements and memorial services:

1. Use of facilities and staff for viewing: The funeral home has a viewing room that can accommodate a small gathering of family and friends.

2. Staff services for funeral services at another facility: If you prefer to hold the funeral service at another facility, such as a church or a cemetery chapel, the funeral home can provide staff services to help you with the arrangements.

3. Staff services at sister chapel in United Methodist Church 30 Kirk Ave, San Jose, CA: The funeral home has a sister chapel at the United Methodist Church in San Jose, which can be used for funeral services. The chapel can accommodate up to 150 people and has modern audiovisual equipment for music and video presentations.

4. Media technician: For an additional fee, the funeral home offers the services of a media technician for up to 4 hours. The technician can assist with setting up and operating audiovisual equipment for music and video presentations during the service.

Transfer of the deceased to the funeral from place of death (ie. hospital, coroner's office, residence, nursing homes). Additional distance outside 25 mile radius will be charged per mile. After hour fee will be applied outside business hours 4pm-9am.

Our charge includes basic services of funeral director and staff, a proportionate share of overhead costs, care of remains, transportation of remains to Martinez Family Funeral Home and to cemetery or crematory.

Transfer of remains within 25 mile radius from Martinez Family Funeral Home (If death occurred and Martinez Family Funeral Home must transfer to the new funeral home between the hours of 5pm-9am, an additional after hours fee will be added). Basic services of funeral director and staff and overhead, embalming, sanitary care, dressing. Transportation to SJC, SFO, OAK airport or another place of destination within a 25 mile radius. This service excludes visitation and or ceremonies, casket, air freight shipping and container charges.

Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or an immediate burial.

​Dressing, cosmetizing, and casketing of human remains, preparation of autopsied remains and donors, sanitary care of unembalmed deceased, restoration, washroom rental for ceremonial bathing, and identification viewing (viewing of unembalmed person for 1 hour, up to 8 people immediate family only and not including sanitation, setting of features, nor dressing of the deceased).
